Walks around a hospital (or 2)

Thursday night Dee got a terrible headache while kayaking and we rushed to the Cottage Hospital emergency room. It was not an easy night. She was in substantial pain for many hours before intravenous tylenol dulled it; I got home around 1:30am and went right back at 7 the next day.

But there’s a lot of downtime in a situation like that, and it’s important to stretch legs, go get food, and walk around the building. After we transferred to DHMC Friday, I did several tours of the building Saturday. It was sunny and warm Saturday downtown and it felt good to be outside for a little while while Tom was with Dee. The site is quite sloped and the building goes up 2 floors from one side to the other; the parking lots keep going down another 30 feet or so. I counted cars from 13 states in the parking lot, some of whom are workers, some of whom are long term patients (assuming from either Dartmouth or from summer people) including my first ever North Dakota plate…generated to convince the world that it exists. It was a nice walk but I don’t recommend the other stuff.
