Ah, Saturday July 31, 2021…a day my legs will not forget. Started in the morning doing chores around the yard, lots of back and forth. Then, out of the blue, Dee wanted to take a walk so we went to Poor Farm Rd (North) and went all the way up the hill till we hit South! Turns out there’s a lot of activity up there once you get past the summer road.
That was a little over 2 miles, but still more to go. Each year I do a tree inspection on my Miller Pond walk on 7/31, 8/31, 9/30 and 10/31. This year there were 2 trees that had turned and 6 more with substantial yellow leaves. Most trees are happy with all the rain this year so far fewer than some dry years.
Finally, the NY Times crossword trek around the house on a Saturday crossword (which I completed, bully for me), and the yield was 15,124 steps, a record since my phone has been keeping track. One I hope not to break, actually.
