Morning walk

Appa and I took a highly unusual morning walk today. The weather this afternoon was forecast to be rainy and increasingly colder (it is October, after all) but the morning had dim sunshine…so off we went. It’s fair to say that Appa was shocked when I arrived with the pink harness. No hassle at all, she was mostly appalled that she wasn’t “working” with Dee.

So, to pay me back, the little hump pulled me constantly, both ways. VERY full of energy. Lots of marking, all the way out. We went almost to Halpin’s, a solid 1.8 mi round trip. Almost every tree had some color, and many had already lost all their leaves. I also had a lot of energy, was able to “nose-breathe” all the way there and back, even up the hill. Despite the chill, a guy passed us in a convertible…you’ve got to be a little crazy.

I didn’t get a chance to explore the land for sale, with Appa getting anxious to be home. But it was fun, and perhaps a way to get a few thousand steps in until the snow comes, because it’s just too dark too early to do anything after dinner. It was a really fun walk.
