I did eventually find the little pink harness, but after a month I can’t think of where. I’m pretty sure it wound up in Dover; I found the stretchy leash first so it kept me looking and we’re now back to keeping the harness in the car by her crate.
The leash, however, seems to have been commandeered by my wife for morning walks. It’s stretchy, which keeps Appa from hurting herself and gives her a good signal that she’s pulling too hard. But it’s more important in Dover for her morning walks than here.
We went out last night and did a long walk, to the big trees around the bend from the old horse field past the brick house. Appa was very good, hardly pulled at all, but the smells were getting her. They freshly mowed the sides of the road (ruining any updated flower count) but it smelled good even to me. Appa was in heaven. Only 3 cars passed the whole time. The camp was doing its Sunday night chanting thing. We passed 36 tree frogs on the way home (they sound like crickets but they shut up when you walk close to their tree-ish location. The sunset over the pond was lovely. Altogether, a fine walk.
